Purpose of the Program

The combination of artificial intelligence and big data analysis is revolutionizing healthcare practices and business models. This synergy has become a promising prospect for the industry. Consequently, the demand for cross-disciplinary collaboration between healthcare and technology has never been more urgent. To address this, the Graduate Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Healthcare (AIBDH) was established. Leveraging the excellency of National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS) in healthcare education, we are poised to meet the needs of national policy, industry development, and talent cultivation.

Program Goals and Student Results

The rapid growth of medical technology has significantly increased average life expectancy, resulting in an ever-growing demand for healthcare. However, a shortage of qualified healthcare professionals presents a major challenge. Traditional, labor-intensive care work must be restructured to prevent a healthcare system collapse. In response, our government has begun implementing data science in health insurance applications, electronic medical records, and human biobank databases. The fusion of artificial intelligence and big data analysis could enhance data utilization and increase healthcare data value. This could create more job opportunities in the healthcare sector and align with national policy trends and talent cultivation goals for a holistic and interdisciplinary smart healthcare system.

Leveraging NTUNHS's excellent health education system and professional experts, we have established an application-oriented master's degree program in AIBDH. This program emphasizes "big data analysis" and "artificial intelligence" in the healthcare field. The first part focuses on the collection, analysis, and prediction of healthcare big data. The second part centers on applying AI to develop innovative healthcare practices. This master's program equips students with vital technical skills, interdisciplinary knowledge, and an integrated mindset to meet the urgent demand in healthcare applications, while paving the way for a future-proof career.
